How to configure apn settings on Vodafone R207, R208, R210, R215?


What's the apn settings?

The term APN (Access Point Names) refers to one specific setting but also the collection of network gateway settings your mobile broadband device uses to reach the Internet.

Many SIM cards store the APN data that gets configured on your mobile broadband device automatically when the card is installed so Your device should be ready to go online as soon as you turn it on for the first time. However, if you can’t go online, it’s usually because the Access Point Name (APN) settings on your device (which dictate what your device will try to connect to) are different from those on your SIM (which dictate what your device and SIM are allowed to connect to). In that case you will need to configure APN settings manually

How to unlock Vodafone R203, R205, R206, R207, R208, R210, R215 Branded by Huawei




Firstly you need to get the unlock code, the best way to get it, is to buy unlock code on eBay, as there are many fake unlock code calculators online, and if you enter wrong code to many times your modem will be permanently locked

How to enter unlock code?


you do not need to have any IT knowledge or install any additional software,
all you need is a simcard from other network then vodafone and laptop / tablet or Ipad

  • firstly insert not accepted simcard and turn ON your modem
  • now on your laptop tablet or Ipad search for WiFi networks and connect to your Vodafone modem / router
  • once WiFi connection is established open web browser and in address bar type 192.168.0.1
  • modem web management page should load and it should ask for unlock code (see picture below)

  • enter the unlock code and click unlock
  • Jo done! Your modem is unlocked, now you will need to configure apn settings for new network to connect to internet

Troubleshooting

What if it doesn't ask for unlock code when i type 192.168.0.1 ?

if on the right side of page you can see network name and signal strength like on picture below


your modem is already unlocked, status is Disconnected because it needs a correct apn settings to connect to internet, for information how to configure apn settings please see links below
