Alcatel Y901 4G+ Mobile Hotspot: Unlocking, Features, Specs, Reviews

Alcatel has launched an upgraded model of Y900, dubbed as Y901. It is a 4G LTE MiFi router that is equivalent to Huawei E5786. It is built on Qualcomm MDM9230 chipset that supports cat.6 LTE.
The Alcatel Y901 supports FDD-LTE CA that features download speed up to 300Mbps and upload speed up to 150Mbps. It can connect up to 32 wireless devices simultaneously. This router supports dual Band WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 2.4 & 5 GHz and 2 x 2 MIMO.
As a highlight, there are two battery available in the Y901 mobile hotspot (1800mAh or 3600mAh) for users’ preference. The 3640 mAh battery will maintain the LINK 4G+ Y901 for up to 50 hours. It can also be used to recharge other devices like a power bank.

Its sub-model Y901NB features FDD-LTE Band 1/3/7/8/20: 800/900/1800/2100/2600 MHz, and UMTS: 850/900/1900/2100 MHz operating frequency bands. In DC-HSPA+ mode download speed is 43.2Mbps and HSPA (HSUPA/HSDPA)/UMTS speed to 14.4Mbps. It can upload in HSUPA up to 5.76Mbps.


The Alcatel Y901 is equipped with a Micro SD card slot (up to 32 GB). There are a power key, WPS button, and 3FF SIM slot is also available. It has a 1.77″ LCD display and boasts Micro USB 3.0. It has 4Gb NAND Flash + 2Gb LPDDR memory.
With 1800mAH battery, this model weighs 118 gms and measures 89 x 62 x 14.15 mm, while 155gms weight and measurement is 89 x 62 x 19.25 mm with 3600 mAh battery.
It can be operated with Windows XP, Vista, 7,8 and Mac OS X 10.5-10.9.
